Lavender essential oil is probably the best-known oil thanks to its relaxing properties. It’s very soothing and great for promoting feelings of calm. This is also a great oil to use if you’d like to have more restful sleep.
Here are three ways to use essential oils for a more restful night’s sleep:
- Diffuse aromatically: Add 3-4 drops of lavender essential oil to an aromatic diffuser and run it in your room at least 30 minutes before bed.
- Pillowcase spritz: In a small squirt bottle, mix 1/2 cup distilled water, 1 teaspoon vodka or witch hazel and 6 drops lavender essential oil. Spray lightly on your pillowcase.
- Apply topically: Rub one drop of lavender essential oil onto your temples and forehead before going to bed.
